A week ago, Crystal (a/k/a @crredwards, the Statler to my Waldorf) had the flu. Not just any flu, mind you — she was struck down by the Philippine Flu, which she caught while fondling fruit at her local greengrocer. Why she was fondling fruit I won’t bother to ask — primarily because it doesn’t surprise me in the least that she was groping the grapefruit — but what I would like to point out is that this was no puny pomegranate. This was a coconut. A killer coconut. A +2 Coconut of Doom.

As if it weren’t bad enough that Crystal & the rest of the Shirelles were incapacitated, the Coconut of Doom began spreading its evil effects via the internet. Just as Crystal was starting to return to abnormal, Jen (a/k/a LaRue a/k/a Chesty La Rue Gal) came down with the dreaded disease. Mass panic — well, at least among the several dozen regulars in #linuxjournal, was narrowly avoided.
